PRO-NET expands charging network
By CARSIFU | 07 May 2024SUBANG JAYA: PRO-NET has expanded its charging network with 36 charging bays covering nine states in response to the growing demand for plug-in hybrids and battery electric vehicles.
Since the introduction of the Proton DC Charger at its headquarters in October last year, PRO-NET has taken proactive steps to expand the charging infrastructure across its Proton Edar Dealerships.
Collaboration with partner Gentari has enabled the organisation to successfully deployed six DC Chargers, totaling 12 charging bays, with each bay equipped with two nozzles.
This rollout includes one unit each of 50kW, 100kW, and 120kW, as well as three units of 60 kW DC chargers.
The expansion marks a substantial addition to the existing smart dealership network, which prides itself on offering a comprehensive charging solution.
Spanning Peninsular Malaysia, the installation of five DC chargers and 13 AC Chargers has resulted in a grand total of 22 charging bays.
Furthermore, PRO-NET is poised to extend its footprint in the East, with imminent plans to introduce additional charging infrastructure as part of its dealership expansion network in Sabah.
As the pioneering automotive brand to introduce groundbreaking features in Malaysia, including an integrated charging map that seamlessly integrates vehicle usage with users' digital lifestyle, PRO-NET is committed to addressing range anxiety by offering a comprehensive EV charging map.
The Hello smart App provides real-time updates on charging points, including availability status, ensuring a hassle-free charging experience for users.
Currently, over 70% of public charging points are accessible through the Hello smart App, thanks to strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as chargEV, JomCharge and Gentari.
Users can effortlessly access the charging map from Proton Edar and Smart Malaysia dealerships, underscoring our dedication to convenience and accessibility.
However, access to chargers at the Hap Seng dealer is presently reserved for smart and Mercedes-Benz owners.
PRO-NET chief executive officer Zhang Qiang said the company is steadfast in asserting its leadership in this rapidly evolving sector.
"With our robust ecosystem of digital solutions, exemplified by the Hello smart App, and the continuous expansion of charging facilities, we are not just keeping pace; we are driving the movement towards modern urban living.
"Each strategic initiative underscores our commitment to providing innovative solutions that deliver unparalleled convenience and sustainability for EV owners nationwide," he said.
