SUBANG JAYA: Proton has launched the e.MAS 5 in Nepal, making it the second overseas market to receive the company's best-selling electric vehicle (EV) following its introduction in Singapore.
The Proton e.MAS 5 was introduced in Nepal by Jagdamba Motors, Proton's authorised distributor in the country.
It is the second Proton EV in the country following the introduction of the e.MAS 7 in 2025.
The launch comes as the Proton e.MAS 5 continues to enjoy strong momentum in Malaysia, where it is the country's best-selling electric vehicle in 2026.
Proton said 200 bookings were secured on the first day of launch.
"The launch of the e.MAS 5 in Nepal is another important milestone in our export journey and demonstrates the growing international confidence in the Proton e.MAS brand," said Proton International Corp Sdn Bhd (PICSB) CEO Edmund Lim Meng Thong.
"This reflects our strategy of building sustainable export growth through products that combine advanced technology, quality, safety and outstanding value."
In Nepal, the e.MAS 5 is offered in Prime and Premium variants and is positioned as a compact electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) designed for everyday mobility.
