PETALING JAYA: Proton is on the cusp of launching the nation's first sub-RM100,000 electric vehicle (EV).
The upcoming e.MAS 5 is officially open for booking and Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (Pro-Net), a wholly owned subsidiary of Proton, gave the model a tentative price from RM60,000 to RM80,000.
Malaysians can make their booking of the e.MAS 5 for RM99 and receive a limited-edition Proton e.MAS Touch ‘n Go NFC Card preloaded with RM100.

Early bird customers are also entitled to an additional RM500 rebate on their booking fee.
"The Proton e.MAS 5 is made for Malaysians who want a car that fits easily into their daily lives with its sleek design, rear-wheel drive dynamics, and a practical range of up to 325 km.
"It’s stylish, practical and sustainable, and with bookings now open, we can’t wait for more people to start their journey towards a greener future with us,” said Pro-Net chief executive officer Zhang Qiang.
