SUBANG JAYA: A 100kW variant of the all-electric Proton e.MAS 7 was introduced recently at the Singapore Motorshow, less than six months after the brand’s return to the market.
Having emerged as Malaysia’s best-selling EV (electric vehicle) in 2025, the e.MAS 7 now anchors Proton’s export-led EV strategy.
The launch was attended by Proton International Corp Sdn Bhd (PICSB) vice president Will Wan Wei and Vincar Group CEO Vincent Tan.
Proton said the introduction of a lower-powered e.MAS 7 variant is on the back of positive response to the e.MAS 7 160kW variant.
Developed for overseas markets, the e.MAS 7 100kW variant allows the model to be positioned in the more affordable Certificate of Entitlement (COE) Category A.

The move also aligns with Proton’s stated aim to reach 330,000 units in annual sales by 2030, with 30% of volume from export markets.
With an Asean NCAP score of 92.57 points, the highest in its segment, the e.MAS 7 saw 6,000 units exported last year.
“The introduction of the 100kW model for export markets demonstrates Proton’s readiness and adaptability to local regulatory needs and market demands, and going forwards, it will be rolled out to other markets should there be a need for it,” said Proton International Corp CEO Edmund Lim Meng Thong.
