SYDNEY: Geely Auto Australia has introduced the Inspire All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) variant to its Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV range.
The Starray EM‑i PHEV is the twin of the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV in Malaysia.
Featuring a rear electric motor for the first time, the Starray EM-i Inspire AWD brings new levels of versatility and capability.
With an additional 80kW (109PS) of power and 150Nm of torque providing a combined system output of 220kW (299PS) and 412Nm of power and torque respectively, the rear motor enhances performance, reducing the 0-100kph sprint to 6.3 seconds.
Additionally, a five-link rear suspension (compared to four-link on FWD or front wheel drive variants) improves ride comfort, stability, and handling.

The Starray EM-i Inspire AWD also features two new drive modes, Snow and Off-road, for drives beyond the city and suburbs.
The Starray EM-i AWD’s 60-litre fuel tank has increased the model line’s maximum range, with the Starray EM-i Inspire AWD delivering 1,065km of range (WLTP) - a 69km range increase on the 996km range of the Starray EM-i Inspire.
Geely Auto Australia product marketing and planning director Andrew Tuitahi said, “The adoption of Geely by the Australian market has encouraged us to broaden our offering.“
“At Geely, we are committed to constantly innovating. The new Starray EM-i Inspire AWD complements our existing Starray EM-i range by providing an option for those seeking enhanced performance and adventurous driving.”
