SUBANG JAYA: Proton's first electric vehicle (EV), the e.MAS 7, has consolidated its position as the country's top EV model for the seventh consecutive month.
Recording strong sales and bookings well into its launch year, more than 4,959 units of the e.MAS 7 had been delivered as of July 31.
Total deliveries also included 270 units from overseas sales.
July also marked a new milestone with 1,365 bookings, the highest monthly figure since the model’s debut.
Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (Pro-Net) CEO Zhang Qiang said the company's goal from day one was to offer Malaysians with an EV that delivered exceptional comfort, balanced performance and advanced features at a fair price.
"The sustained demand we are seeing today is the result of that commitment. We are deeply grateful to our customers for placing their trust in Proton and the e.MAS brand, and for making the e.MAS 7 their number one choice," he said.

Of the two variants offered, the entry-level Prime variant accounted for 14% of total deliveries while the remaining 86% were taken up by the full-loaded Premium.
The company said customers consistently cited value for money, spaciousness, safety features, ride comfort, handling and innovative technology as their key reasons for choosing the e.MAS 7.
Platinum Silver remained the most popular colour choice, representing 25% of all orders.
In response to market demand, Proton recently introduced an Obsidian Black exterior, along with limited units in Turquoise Green and Quartz Rose paired with a premium Alabaster White interior for added personalisation.
Pro-Net's market research also revealed that most Malaysian drivers travel between 21km to 40km daily and that e.MAS 7 owners would typically need to recharge once per week under average usage.
