PUTRAJAYA: Pro-Net recently delivered the Proton e.MAS 7, e.MAS 5, and e.MAS 7 PHEV (plug-in hybrid) and smart #1 to the Transport Ministry (MOT) as part of a government-led initiative to evaluate electric vehicles (EVs) for official use.
Pro-Net is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Proton.
The handover took place during a ceremony held in Putrajaya.
The initiative follows the official launch ceremony held in August 2025, where multiple automotive brands pledged support for the MOT’s programme to introduce EVs into its operational evaluation fleet.
Through this programme, government stakeholders will experience EV technology firsthand while assessing its practicality, performance and suitability for daily operations.
Proton deputy CEO Datuk Abdul Rashid Musa said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to accelerate Malaysia’s transition towards sustainable mobility.
“Initiatives like this allow stakeholders to experience EV technology firsthand, which plays an important role in shaping policies, infrastructure development and the broader adoption of electric mobility in Malaysia,” said Abdul Rashid.
The delivery of the vehicles further demonstrates Pro-Net’s commitment to working closely with government agencies and industry partners to support Malaysia’s transition towards a low carbon mobility future.
