SUBANG JAYA: The 2026 Proton S70 Lite and Prime variants expand the S70 family and offer 10 class-leading features.
Both variants are powered by a naturally aspirated i-GT 1.5-litre engine paired with a CVT with a torque converter.
On-the-road prices without insurance are RM59,800 (Lite) and RM62,800 (Prime).
Prices after the RM3,000 rebate (for early bird reward) are RM56,800 (Lite) and RM59,800 (Prime).
The RM3,000 rebate applies to all customers who complete both booking and registration by Dec 31, 2026.
The S70 Lite and Prime are available in Quartz Black, Marine Blue, Space Grey, Snow White, and Armour Silver.
Proton says the introduction of the Lite and Prime variants builds on the strong sales performance of the S70, which has recorded average monthly sales of more than 2,500 units in 2026.
Since order books opened on Sept 7, 2026, the two new variants have received more than 10,000 bookings in just two weeks.
The new variants offer class-leading cabin space and rear passenger shoulder room, supported by a wide body and generous wheelbase.
A near-flat rear floor allows three passengers to sit more comfortably side by side.
A soft-touch instrument panel and thoughtful interior detailing create a refined cabin.
Connectivity and convenience features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay - available from October 2026, an Electric Parking Brake with Auto Brake Hold, Auto Up/Down with Anti-Trap for all windows, remote engine start and five USB ports, with equipment varying by variant.
Safety is supported by six airbags and front and rear parking sensors, complemented by the Rear Side Radar System which consists of Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Opening Warning and Rear Collision Warning, with equipment varying by variant.
Both variants come standard with a Reverse Camera and Rear Seat Reminder.
The variants also retain three selectable drive modes.
“With the 2026 Proton S70 Lite and Prime, we are making the S70 accessible to more Malaysians by focusing on the things that matter in everyday ownership — space, comfort, convenience, connectivity and safety,” said Proton deputy CEO Datuk Abdul Rashid Musa.
Meanwhile, every purchase of the S70 i-GT 1.5 includes Pro-Warranty, with a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty and six services with free labour.
Also, Pro-Finance is available to eligible customers, offering financing of up to nine years at interest rates from 2.35% per annum, subject to financing approval and applicable terms.
Pro Trade-In also provides overtrade support of up to RM2,000 for customers trading in their existing vehicles, alongside other offers.
There is also the optional Pro-Shield, the Proton Insurance Programme, which offers upgraded protection including Special Perils coverage, windscreen coverage, enhanced flood relief coverage of up to RM2,000, and passenger personal accident coverage of up to RM15,000 per person for up to four passengers.
Existing benefits include a waiver of betterment cost up to 10 years old, agreed-value protection, all-driver coverage, key replacement, personal accident coverage for the policyholder and 24 hour roadside assistance.
Fast Service is available for scheduled basic maintenance on the S70 Lite and Prime, allowing customers who book in advance and remain on-site to have their vehicles serviced with minimal waiting time.
With One-Day Service Delivery, vehicles are scheduled to be returned within 24 hours for both walk-ins and appointments.
If repairs require more than three working days, Proton service outlets will provide a relief car and a one-time complimentary service, including parts and labour.
