SHAH ALAM: The Proton X50 is now offered in Quartz Black as a colour option for all variants.
This follows the success of the X50 Black Edition in March, a limited run of 200 units based on the Flagship variant only.
Proton said the addition of Quartz Black amplifies its visual impact.
"The SUV’s (sport utility vehicle) bold front fascia, sculpted body panels and dynamic stance take on a sharper, more assertive presence when finished in black. It is also a colour that highlights contrast, accentuating details such as chrome accents and LED lighting signatures and allows the X50’s design details to stand out with greater clarity," said the national automaker.

Proton also pointed out that black also carries practical appeal, being widely regarded as a safe choice in the resale market and often retaining desirability across different buyer groups.
"This enduring popularity ensures that black vehicles remain easier to sell and maintain strong residual value, which is a key consideration for increasingly savvy Malaysian consumers," said the company.
Meanwhile, the X50 recorded 3,265 units sold in March and reaffirmed its position as Malaysia’s most popular SUV model for the first three months of 2026 with 7,571 units sold.
This is also an increase of 48% over the sales volume from the first three months of 2025.
Proton has complement the X50 with a suite of after-sales commitments designed to deliver convenience.

These include the Fast Service initiative that offers quick turnaround times for basic maintenance such as engine oil and filter replacements in 90 minutes, and is aimed at those who book ahead and wait on-site.
For more extensive servicing needs, the One-Day Service Delivery promise ensures vehicles are returned within 24 hours, whether through scheduled appointments or walk-ins.
Finally, should the servicing to be done on a vehicle take more than three working days to complete, customers are provided with a relief car, along with a free one-time service covering
both parts and labour.
Proton Edar CEO Datuk Abdul Rashid Musa said, "The X50 is the company’s spearhead for its SUV range and has been an unprecedented success since its introduction in 2020. The success is built on the quality of the product and understanding of customer needs so the introduction of Quartz Black as a colour option, and the continued emphasis on customer experience are prime examples of our ethos."
