TANJUNG MALIM: Proton's first very own DC charging hub is now officially online.
The hub is located at the administration building of Proton Tanjung Malim and is managed by its subsidiary Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (Pro-Net) independent of external charge point operators (CPOs).
The infrastructure is equipped with two DC chargers, four charging bays, and a combined station output power of 120kW.
Following the approval of the ST EVCS license the charging hub is open to all electric vehicle (EV) owners regardless of brand.

The company's first standalone charging infrastructure also adopts an app-free charging system that allows customers to simply scan a QR code and access a web-based interface to start charging and make payment.
Proton e.MAS and smart owners can continue to enjoy the option of using the e.MAS app and Hello smart app, both of which are fully integrated with the system.
Charging rate has been set at RM0.80 per-kWh to be in line with Proton's mission to make EV ownership more practical and affordable.

In addition to having one of the lowest price rate in the country, Proton is celebrating the launch of the hub with a special discounted rate for the first month of operation.
All users will get to enjoy a 50% discount throughout this October. This brings the fee down to just RM0.40 per-kWh.
"Tanjung Malim is where Pro-Net’s story began, so it is fitting for us to also start this new chapter here,” said Pro-Net chief executive officer Zhang Qiang.
