KUALA LUMPUR: Several videos of a car speeding and weaving through traffic before getting involved in a multi-vehicle accident has gone viral on social media.
One of the videos, a three minute long clip believed to be dashcam footage, shows the black car weaving through several lanes along a three lane road.
Traffic then begins to slow down and the motorist in the car is heard saying that he believes the speeding car has met with an accident.
As the driver moves through the traffic, his hunch is proven right and he sees the wrecked black car as well as several other vehicles which were involved in the accident.
Another clip, also dashcam footage from another vehicle, shows the black vehicle trying to squeeze between a car and a pick-up truck and crashing into the rear end of the car before ramming into the rear of a third vehicle.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident occurred at around 10.05am on Saturday along the Middle Ring Road 2 near Kuala Ampang.
"Investigations showed that the driver of the car lost control while avoiding another.
"The vehicle then spins before hitting the rear of an MPV and skidding into the left lane," he said in a statement today.
He said the driver had suffered multiple injuries and was sent to the Ampang Hospital for treatment.
"The drivers of the other vehicles escaped uninjured.
"We have sent a blood sample from the driver of the car to the Chemistry Department for a toxicology test," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving recklessly and dangerously.
