Refreshed BMW X5 to get lit-up grille

MUNICH: The facelifted BMW X5 will get an illuminated grille, copying an idea already seen in the X6 and its sub-brand Rolls-Royce.

This was evident in a teaser video it posted on its Twitter account on Monday.

The new X5 launch is expected to be today.

The refresh would see revisions to headlights and taillights as well as new exterior colours and wheel designs.

The cabin would see the infotainment system getting an upgrade to BMW’s iDrive 8.

As for powerplants, the six- and eight-pot inline engines would likely get electrified, while the plug-in hybrid would have a more powerful engine.

We can expect total output of 389hp and 600Nm of torquecoming from a powertrain that integrates an electric motor with a turbo 3-litre petrol mill.
