Refreshed Honda HR-V lineup launched from RM115,900 to RM143,900

SHAH ALAM: Honda Malaysia, the official distributor of the Japanese brand in the country, has officially launched its refreshed HR-V.

The B-segment sports utility vehicle (SUV) is offered in four variants, starting with the entry-level S variant that's been priced on-the-road without insurance at RM115,900.

This is followed by the E at RM130,900, the V at RM137,900 and finally the range-topping e:HEV RS at RM143,900.

For colour choices, the HR-V comes in the usual Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Stellar Diamond Pearl while the new colours of Phoenix Orange Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl complete the options.

To refresh its look, the HR-V is presented with a new front grille that integrates with the full-LED headlights, while the rear has been equipped with a LEDs for the light bar and light clusters.

Meanwhile, regardless of variant, it comes rolling in on 18-inch alloy wheels wearing 225/50 series tyres.

The HR-V retains the powertrain setup, which means no changes were made to the 1.5-litre (1,498cc) naturally aspirated, turbocharged or Atkinson Cycle powerplants - all mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) or an e-CVT for the range-topping RS.

The redesigned dashboard now sports a floating 8.0-inch infotainment display that powers the standard four-speaker sound system and even comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Even safety has been standardised across all variants, with the Honda LaneWatch Camera system reserved for the V and e:HEV RS.

Additionally, there's also a wireless charger, now integrated into the centre console.

The standard safety equipment includes six airbags, vehicle stability assist, agile handle assist, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, auto brake hold, hill-start assist, emergency stop signal and hill descent control, among others.

In the realm of advance driver assist systems, the HR-V comes equipped with the fully-range of systems under the Honda Sensing umbrella.

This includes forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, lane keep assist system, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, low-speed follow, automatic high-beam and lead car departure notification.

Aside from that, Honda Connect and Hill Descent Control are also included as standard, as are walk-away auto-lock, keyless entry with push-start button and Econ button.

Only the E, V and RS get the Sport button and a dual-zone climate control is only reserved for the RS which comes with embossed leather upholstery (plain leather for the V and fabric for the rest).

Yazaki also stated that the HR-V holds a 41% share in its non-national segment (based on sales from January to May) with over 170,000 units sold since the nameplate was introduced in 2015.
