SEOUL: The new Renault Filante is a distinctive, daring crossover with avant-garde styling and a new light signature.
The name Filante recalls the Étoile Filante prototype, which set multiple world speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1956.
Developed on the CMA platform, the Filante features an upgraded full hybrid E-Tech 250 hp powertrain, without the need for external charging.
The system pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 150hp and 250Nm of torque with two electric motors integrated into a DHT Pro automatic transmission, delivering a combined output of 250hp and up to 565Nm of torque.
Energy is supplied by a 1.64kWh lithium-ion battery, enabling up to 75% of city driving in all-electric mode, depending on conditions.

The vehicle always starts in electric mode. Fuel consumption is reduced by up to 50% compared with an equivalent non-hybrid petrol engine.
The DHT Pro (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) combines two electric motors, a dual epicyclic gearset, a high-pressure hydraulic module and a dual clutch.
Its three gears ensure smooth transitions between operating modes and seamless performance.
Chassis and suspension tuning prioritise comfort, refinement and high-speed stability, with particular attention to thermal management and vibration control.
The Filante features more than 30 advanced driver assistance systems, grouped under Renault Easy Drive.
These include intelligent adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, lane centering, emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, traffic sign recognition with adaptive speed limiter, advanced blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Auto Park Assist, and 360-degree cameras with transparent chassis view combined with a 540-degree camera.

Three new systems debut on Renault Filante:
- Emergency collision avoidance, supporting evasive manoeuvres between 18 and 75 mph (29 to 121kph) with increased steering torque, aided by data from the cameras and vehicle sensors
- Digital interior rear-view mirror, improving rear visibility and integrating electronic toll collection
- Child presence detection, monitoring the cabin and triggering alerts if a child is left inside
- A driver attention monitoring system analyses steering inputs and reaction times, while the head-up display projects key information directly into the driver’s field of vision.
The Filante features the new-generation OpenR Panorama infotainment system (compatible with Android Automotive), as well as a 12.3-inch passenger screen, and a world-first XR in-car video game, using the vehicle’s camera with near-zero latency.

The My Renault app enables remote vehicle functions, including location, pre-conditioning and digital key access. Up to five digital keys can be shared between users.
Connectivity features include:
- four USB-C ports
- wireless smartphone charging
- onboard Wi-Fi
- multipoint Bluetooth for two phones
Two audio systems are available: an Arkamys system with eight speakers, or a Bose Premium system with 10 speakers and active noise cancellation.
With a 2,820mm wheelbase, the Filante offers generous space for all occupants.
Rear passengers benefit from 320mm of knee room and 874mm of headroom, while the 60/40 split rear bench provides excellent support.
Boot capacity is 654 litres with the seats up (including the underfloor compartment) and 2,071 litres with the seats folded.

A fixed 1.1 sq metre panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with light.
Tri-zone climate control allows independent temperature adjustment, supported by an air purification system monitoring fine particles (PM2.5).
Based on the Aurora project, the Filante introduces a new design approach for Renault, blending saloon elegance with SUV (sport utility vehicle) presence.
Designed by Renault Technocentre in France and Renault Design Centre Seoul, and developed in South Korea, the Filante features a muscular stance and distinctive crossover silhouette.
It measures 4,915mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,635mm in height, conveying presence while promising generous interior space.

Built at Renault’s Busan plant, the Filante will start its rollout in March 2026 in South Korea, followed by selected Latin American markets and the Gulf States in early 2027.
The Filante is positioned as a new global flagship in design and technology, and plays a central role in Renault’s 2027 International Game Plan.
The 2027 International Game Plan will see Renault launch eight new vehicles outside Europe between 2024 and 2027.
The brand aims for one in three international sales to be hybrid or electric within this timeframe.
