Kelantan JPJ nets RM2.28mil for DDY number plate series

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan Road Transport Department (JPJ) recorded the highest collection for bids involving the DDY vehicle registration serial numbers amounting to RM2.28 million.

Its director, Hanif Yusabra Yusuf, said the bidding, which opened on Jan 29, exceeded the initial target of RM1.9 million.

It was also the highest collection of registration number series since the electronic bidding for vehicle registration number plates (JPJeBid) was introduced in Kelantan, he said.

The highest bidding was for the DDY 1 registration number, worth RM155,500, followed by DDY 9 (RM64,700), DDY 8 (RM55,800), DDY 7 (RM55,452), DDY 6 (RM48,010), DDY 3 (RM46,100), DDY 2 (RM45,021), DDY 5 (RM44,000), DDY 33 (RM34,888) and DDY 11 (RM31,200).

“A total of 2,937 bidders were involved for this series and only 1,398 them were successful,” he said in a statement here today.

Hanif Yusabra said the any registration number that is successfully bid must be registered on a vehicle within 12 months from the date the offer letter is issued at the state JPJ office or branch.

He said the remaining unregistered numbers would be open to the public at the minimum price.

“The bidding price will be according to the category that has been set, namely the key category with a value of RM20,000; attractive numbers (two digits) at RM3,000; attractive numbers (three digits) at RM2,500; attractive numbers (four digits) at RM2,000; and popular numbers at RM500 and current numbers worth RM300.

“Members of the public who are interested in the remaining registration number, can do so at the state JPJ office or branches,” he said.

He added that the public is also advised to have mySIKAP ID to get a list of current numbers that have yet to be registered and then buy them online.

Thus far, Kelantan JPJ has recorded a collection of bid revenue of RM16,019,573 during the implementation period of the JPJeBID system introduced starting with the DDP to DDY series.
