Road tax renewals at post offices suspended until March 31
By THE STAR | 23 February 2021PETALING JAYA: Road tax renewals for private vehicles have been suspended at post offices nationwide until March 31.
In a statement, Pos Malaysia said this was under instruction from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) as vehicle owners have been given an exemption from renewing road tax during the movement control order as long as the vehicle is insured.
"Following the Transport Ministry's road tax and driver license renewal exemption for MCO 2.0, licensed drivers may still operate their motor vehicles with a valid vehicle insurance certificate (e-cover note)," read the statement posted on Pos Malaysia's Facebook page today.
It also said that all other services, including driving licence and vehicle insurance renewals, are still available at post offices nationwide.
"We apologise for any inconvenience," said Pos Malaysia, adding that Malaysians can reach out to them via AskPos at www.pos.com.my or through the Pos Malaysia mobile app.
