The 8 onboard the plane have been identified. Transport Minister Anthony Loke said they were passengers: Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali. The two crew members were pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim. The two motorists who died were Grab driver Sharipuddin Shaari and Foodpanda rider Muhammad Hafiz Muhamad Salleh.
SHAH ALAM: At least 10 people have died after a light aircraft crashed at the Elmina township here.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the incident occurred at around 2.40pm today.
"The aircraft which took off from Langkawi was cleared to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang when it lost communication with the control tower.
"The aircraft crashed into the road here and hit a car and motorcycle.
"Based on our checks at least two crew members and six passengers were on board the flight. They all died at the scene," he told reporters at the scene.
He said the driver of the car and the motorcyclist died on impact.
"We have yet to establish if there were more people inside the car.
"All the victims will be sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for post-mortem
"Checks revealed that one of former Cabinet Minister Jamaluddin Jarjis' children was listed on the flight manifest," he said.
According to Pahang state assembly speaker Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin, Pelangai assemblyman and Pahang exco member Datuk Seri Johari Harun, 54, was among those on the ill-fated flight.
Several pictures and videos have since gone viral of the burning wreckage lying on the road there.
The plane is believed to be a Beechcraft Premier I, a light business jet aircraft.
Highway operator Prolintas Group said in a statement that the exit and entrance to Elmina Interchange in both directions from Guthrie Corridor Expressway have been temporarily closed until the crash site had been cleared and investigation was completed.
