Rolls-Royce Spectre spotted out testing

By CARSIFU | 4 February 2022

LONDON: Rolls-Royce is currently testing its electric coupe called Spectre, and it should be unveiled in late 2023.

The Spectre is built on the Architecture of Luxury platform that underpins the new Ghost and Phantom.

It is believed to use the electric drivetrain of the BMW iX M60 that comes with two electric motors producing up to 610hp and 1,100Nm of torque.

The iX M60 has a 111.5kWh battery pack with an EPA-estimated range of 450km.

Unlike most cars under testing, Rolls-Royce is not shy to declare the name of the electric coupe on the latest camouflaged wrap.

The images you see here are of the Spectre in the old wrap. The new one has the name "Spectre" on the side of the car in the area highlighted.

Rolls-Royce had announced the name of its first electric coupe in September last year.

Viewed sideways, it looks like the Wraith but the Spectre's bonnet has a more distinct slope and the roofline has a more pronounced arc at the rear.

The electric coupe will also have split headlights and vertical slats in the grille that look like they can open or close like in BMW models.

So far, the spy shots of Spectre are only of the exterior of the car. The interior will certainly be as posh as Rolls-Royce can make it with tech features that will either be a world first or competitive with what's available in the market.
