The new Com (Comfort) variant expands the MGS5 EV line-up to two options and was designed to make the model more accessible to the public.
It is priced at RM103,900 (Peninsula Malaysia, excluding road tax and insurance) and comes with a smaller 49kWh battery that produces 170PS and 250Nm of torque, while delivering a driving range of up to 340km.

The Com variant also misses out on power-adjustable front seats, a heated leather steering wheel, and hands-free powered tailgate.

Both variants share a contemporary dark interior and a comprehensive suite of safety and convenient features - seven airbags and the brand’s MG Pilot ADAS 2.5 advanced driver assistance system that comes with technologies such as Traffic Jam Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control.

SAIC Motor Malaysia managing director Emory Qi said they are making RWD electric B-segment sports utility vehicle (SUV) ownership more accessible to a broader group of Malaysians with the introduction of the MGS5 EV COM.
“The SUV segment continues to see strong growth alongside increasing demand for electric vehicles. We believe this new variant offers exceptional value and allows more customers to experience the performance, technology and quality that define the MG brand,” added Qi.
All MGS5 EV variants come with a comprehensive ownership assurance package, including a seven-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 180,000km battery pack warranty and an eight-year or 160,000km Motor Control Unit (MCU) warranty.
