PETALING JAYA: Mohd Adib, 33, or better known as Adib has planned it all out to ride his motorcycle from Penang to China.

The objective of the long ride is to assist the St. Nicholas Home in Penang. St Nicholas is a non-government body that trains the visually impaired and the blind from age 6 to 77. The home strives to help the blind and visually impaired to be integrated into society through the skills imparted.

Adib's 27-day ride to China is called Ride For Sight and will start from Penang.

“My ride kicks off on Nov 20 and ends on Dec 15,” he said.

Mohd Adib has rode in Sri Lanka.
Adib has ticked off Sri Lanka on his list of places to travel to.

The riding route will be from Penang to Thailand to Golden Triangle Border (Myanmar, Thailand and Laos) to Shangri-La to Tibet to Kunming to Laos to Thailand and back to Penang. Adib will be riding his trusted Yamaha FZ150i.

Being no stranger to overland rides, Adib did a solo ride around Peninsular Malaysia in 2013.

In 2016, he continued with the Ride Solo 7 Nations Expedition (Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Laos and Myanmar). Last year, he took part in the Colombo Bike Week in Sri Lanka.

In conjunction with the Ride For Sight, Adib is selling specially designed t-shirts. Details on the t-shirts are available on Adib’s personal FB page – Mohd Adib and Kembara Jiwa.

Adib said 10% of the proceeds from the t-shirt sales would be donated to St. Nicholas Home. Prices are RM50 for short sleeve and RM60 for long sleeve.
