KUALA LUMPUR: Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd has entered into a deal with TNG Digital Sdn Bhd to integrate Setel’s pump-and-pay functionality into the TNG eWallet at more than 1,000 Petronas stations nationwide.
The collaboration will enable motorists to pay for fuel directly at the pump via the "Petronas via Setel" mini programme, without leaving their vehicles or installing an additional application.
To celebrate the launch, the first 50,000 qualifying transactions via the new mini programme would earn RM5 in Mesra Rewards points.
The promotion applies to new users of both Setel and Mesra Rewards, as well as existing Mesra members who link their ID to Setel for the first time.
Participants will also gain GOrewards points on each transaction through TNG eWallet, subject to standard terms and conditions.
Setel chief executive officer Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin said the tie-up was a move by the company to expand its platform through partnerships.
“Fuel purchase is a frequent necessity,” he said, “and embedding our technology within TNG eWallet allows us to reach users in their existing digital environments while advancing our ambition to offer seamless mobility and retail experiences.”
TNG Digital chief executive officer Alan Ni said the alliance dovetailed with the company's goal to embed everyday services into its wallet.
The partnership was formalised through a recent Memorandum of Understanding the two parties signed.
