Setel to impose a 1% convenience fee on credit card reloads from Dec 5
By THE STAR | 08 November 2024
PETALING JAYA: Fuel and parking-centric ewallet app, Setel, has announced that it will start imposing a 1% convenience fee on credit card reloads from Dec 5.
The announcement, sent to users via an in-app notification, states that the fee is intended to help the company continue offering the “convenience and security” customers deserve.
It further states that the convenience fee will not apply to automatic reloads to the app's ewallet. Those who opt to top up via online banking, ewallet, or debit card will also not be subject to the fee.
Setel’s move to start imposing the convenience fee comes after similar action by Touch ‘n Go ewallet earlier in February this year and GrabPay in September, with both citing the heavy cost of credit card reloads that it was subsidising.
