SHAH ALAM: Sime Darby Swedish Auto reached a new milestone with the launch of its new Volvo dealership in Setia Alam here.

The new 3S centre follows Sime Darby Swedish Auto's first dealership at the Sime Darby Motors City in Ara Damansara.

Developed at a cost of RM3mil, the facility is also a Volvo-certified damage repair centre capable of providing end-to-end services to its customers.



The centre covers 23,000sq ft and presents Volvo's global showroom and service standards.

Its showroom allows customers to immerse themselves in the Volvo Retail Experience that features Volvo's Scandinavian ideals and values.

Meanwhile, its service area can handle three cars a day and has the capacity to raise intake to six.



In line with Volvo's direction towards electrified vehicles, the centre also has four charging bays with 22kW AC output.

Sime Darby Swedish Auto Setia Alam dealer principal Nixon Ng said there were plans to install fast DC charging bays in the future.

Volvo Car Malaysia managing director Charles Frump said the expansion of its network with the new Setia Alam dealership would enable more customers in Selangor to venture into the world of sustainable and safe driving.

He said Volvo sold close to 3,200 units in Malaysia last year, up 43% from previously.



Of the vehicles sold, around 80% of them were battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

"We are aiming to have 75% of our sales coming from fully electric vehicles by 2025," he said.

Sime Darby Swedish Auto received the Dealer Excellence Award for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021.

The 3S centre is open daily from 8.30am to 6pm and is located on Jalan Setia Murni, U13/AH, Seksyen U13, 40170 Shah Alam.
