SHAH ALAM: Assembly for SoloEra Solo 1C electric motorcycles has started at EP Manufacturing Bhd's (EPMB) production facility in Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
This was announced by EPMB subsidiary EP Blueshark Sdn Bhd, and electric vehicle (EV) tech mobility company Blueshark Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
The Glenmarie facility has an initial production capacity of 12,000 electric motorcycles annually.
In a statement, Blueshark said local assembly of the high-performance Solo 2 and Solo 3 models is now underway.
Blueshark also said the Solo 1C had recorded over 6,000 registrations of interest in just over a month, following the launch of a limited-time pre-launch promotion in July.
Priced from as low as RM599, the campaign made the Solo 1C one of the most accessible electric motorcycles in the market.
This success was driven by an exclusive collaboration with Mesra Rewards and Setel, supported by the MARiiCas EV rebate initiative by Malaysia Automotive Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii).
Blueshark CEO Jeff Chong said, "Together with our strategic partners EPMB and Petronas Dagangan Bhd, we are committed to expanding Malaysia’s electromobility ecosystem while establishing the country as a manufacturing hub for Asean and beyond."
