Sport drive button included: Ford soups up its Fiesta ST
By DPA | 08 February 2021
DETROIT: Ford is now launching an even more athletic version of the Fiesta's ST sports model - the Fiesta ST Edition, which the company says is about more than bodywork tweaks.
For an extra charge (just under €7,000 or RM35,000 in Europe), buyers get an adjustable coilover suspension to make more out of the 200hp of the 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine (which remains unchanged).
To improve traction on tight corners, there's also a mechanical front axle lock available as an option.
With this setup, the small car accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 6.5 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 230kph. Fuel consumption is given as 6.6 litres per 100km.
There are also a few visual changes to go with the re-tuned chassis: For example, the Fiesta ST Edition has lightweight rims, trims in glossy black and also more carbon and blue stitching on the sports seats. When driving, you'll notice the new steering wheel that offers a special button to activate the sport drive mode.
