PETALING JAYA: The top specification variant of Hyundai's upcoming multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) or 'WEhicle' is up for preview at the brand's Durian Runtuh event.
Located at the Stadium MBPJ Parking in Kelana Jaya from Aug 8-9, the imported (CBU) six-seater Stargazer X on display is decked in Gravity Gold Matte while sporting exclusive features such as: a black H emblem, silver and black radiator grille, sportier bumper, black overfenders, side skirts, 17-inch black gloss alloy wheels, bridge type roof rails that can support up to 100kg, and rear disc brakes.
Inside the cabin we see leatherette seats as well as two captain seats in the second row, a 10.5 inch floating center console with detachable tray, palm rest, a wireless smartphone charging pad, SBW transmission control with paddle shifter, second row passenger seat table and pocket, and LED overhead console and room lamp.
For safety the X variant comes with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), six airbags, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Hyundai SmartSense Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
As the Stargazer X on display is an Indonesian specification pre-production model, the features we saw that won't be making it to the local market version includes the surround view monitor with blind-spot monitor, ambient lighting, driver power ventilated seat and the 9-speaker audio setup - Malaysia's come in a 6-speaker arrangement.
Much like the other variants the X choice is also powered by a 1.5-litre inline 4-cylinder Smartstream engine paired to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The powertrain delivers a maximum power of 115PS at 6,300rpm and 143Nm of maximum torque at 4,500rpm.
Pricing of the variant which is expected to be RM121,000 inclusive of an 8-Year/160,000km warranty - the two lower Style and Prime and X are respectively estimated to be priced at RM99,000 and RM109,000.
Colour options are as follows: Titan Gray Metallic, Creamy White Pearl, Midnight Black Pearl or Gravity Gold Matte.
