SINGAPORE: A full stock Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 in the hands of Joan Pedrero, Dakar's elite rider, made history by successfully finishing, for the first time in history, the XXXVIII edition of La Baja España Aragón race in the maxi-trail category.

This year, new categories Trail and Maxi Trail have been introduced in response to the high demand to bring this style of bike back to rally-raid competitions.

Harley-Davidson wanted to prove its bike was up to the task and decided to accept the challenge to race off-road.

Pedrero competed in this new category, testing the Pan America 1250.

At the Spanish race in Aragon, the Dakar rider demonstrated the capabilities of the first Harley-
Davidson Adventure Touring model, powered by the muscular Revolution Max 1250 powertrain, a liquid-cooled 150hp 1250cc V-twin engineered to deliver ample power to high revs.

Extremely hot temperatures over 40°C and dusty rocky roads have been the landscape of this incredible race.

During the first stages, audience have been able to enjoy seeing the motorcycle of the American brand within the top 15 overall positions.

At the end of the long racing day, on top of leading the Maxi Trail category and despite four punctures causing the rider to lose more than 90 minutes, Joan Pedrero did not stop riding the Pan America 1250, impressing spectators.

“We did it! We put a full stock bike in such a legendary rally-raid and the feedback has been fantastic,” said Harley-Davidson managing director for Spain, Portugal and Italy Francesco Vanni.

“This bike has everything you need to have a true experience on and off-road and we’re ready for the next adventure.”
