Subaru Forester 2.5i-S Eyesight: From RM222K estimated

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Subaru Forester has been launched by TC Subaru Sdn Bhd, and offered in the 2.5i-S Eyesight grade, as part of the Japan Premium Line.

TC Subaru said indicative pricing begins at RM221,500.

For final pricing and model specifications, customers can contact local authorised Subaru showrooms.

The Forester features a new 2.5-litre FB25 engine that is more responsive and powerful than before.

A new TR58 Lineartronic gearbox with additional gear delivers better acceleration and fuel efficiency.

The new Dual Pinion electric power steering provides a faster, sportier feel while braking is tuned for better drivability.

The all-new Forester The Forester 2.5 is built on the evolved Subaru Global Platform, which has been enhanced for superior driving dynamics and comfort.

Chassis rigidity has been improved by 10% through a full inner frame construction and the wider use of structural adhesives.

This minimises vibrations and reduces sudden body movements, while a specially designed suspension further improves ride comfort and better handling.

The Forester retains its Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD) system which continuously adjusts power in real time to maintain optimal traction, thus ensuring superior grip and stability across all conditions.

A generous 220mm ground clearance ensures exceptional performance on unpaved surfaces and off-road environments.

This is complemented by dual-function X-MODE, which offers reliable support on rough terrain and makes it easier to free the vehicle from mud.

Hill Descent Control is also included to help maintain a constant speed on slippery downhills.

Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) tailors the engine response to driver preference, offering an "Intelligent (I)" mode for fuel efficiency and a "Sport (S)" mode.

The interior offers class-leading space, an 11.6-inch Full HD infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Qi wireless charging pad.

Both front (Type-A and C) and rear USB power ports are provided.

There are also a Kick Sensor-activated hands-free powered rear gate, and 60/40-split folding rear seats.

Meanwhile, co-developed by Subaru and a Japanese medical centre, the new generation of seats are ergonomically designed to reduce fatigue on all journeys.

The seat rails are attached directly to the chassis for improved rigidity, reduced vibration, less stress, and better body support.

Drivers benefit from a 10-way power-adjustable seat with lumbar support; this focus on comfort is most noticeable during long trips.

Subaru claims the seats provide a level of driving pleasure that not only rivals but even surpasses that of European cars.

As for safety, the Forester is built around a Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame and cabin-protecting layout.

There are eight SRS airbags including a new passenger seat cushion SRS airbag for improved frontal collision safety.

With enhanced EyeSight 4.0, the latest generation of Subaru’s driver assist technology now uses a wide-angle monocular camera, significantly expanding the detection range for pedestrians
and bicycles.

Other features are Emergency Driving Stop System (can detect a prolonged period of driver inactivity and automatically bring the vehicle to a complete, safe stop) and Driver Monitoring System (uses a new dedicated camera and facial recognition software to detect driver fatigue or inattention. It determines the driver's alertness by identifying drowsiness and tracking their head and eye movements).

Also included are features like a 360-degree Multi View Monitor, Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB), and Active Torque Vectoring.

Meanwhile, the all-new Forester's dynamic front fascia features a redesigned grille and striking C-shaped LED headlights.

There are practical roof rails while muscular wheel arches frame the large, 18-inch aluminium-alloy wheels.

The rear of the vehicle is highlighted by an embossed "FORESTER" insignia.

The all-new Forester is available in a wide colour palette, including River Rock Pearl, a newly developed colour; Cashmere Gold Opal and Daybreak Blue Pearl, two newly available colours.
