KULAI: Remember the case of the supercar blockade in March after a pick-up truck crashed into a Lamborghini on the PLUS expressway?

The case made news again today when the 28-year-old woman truck driver was issued a RM2,000 fine after pleading guilty to causing an accident on the expressway.

Lee Jia Ming, a businesswoman, pleaded guilty after charges were read in front of magistrate Sharifah Maleeha Syed Hussin at the magistrate's court here today.

In the incident, footage of which went viral, a pickup truck driven by Lee is seen forcing other cars out of the way on the highway and rammed into the Lamborghini, which was travelling in a convoy.

The convoy is then seen stopping in the middle of the highway, preventing all cars – including the pickup truck – from moving.

According to the charge sheet, Lee had failed to control her vehicle, causing an accident to take place at KM34 at 6.10pm on March 18.

She was charged under Section 119(2) of the Road Transport Act, which carries a fine of up to RM2,000 or a jail term not exceeding six months.

Lee was represented by lawyer Tan Cheng Yee, while the case was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Eddlynn Wong.

In the same court, 44-year-old Nor Razman Abd Razak was fined RM2,000 after pleading guilty to hurting Lee. Nor Razman, who works as a driver and bodyguard, was said to have slapped Lee following the incident on March 18.

At the time of the incident, Nor Razman was a passenger in the supercar driven by his employer.

He was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a jail term of up to one year or a maximum fine of RM2,000 or both upon conviction.

He was represented by lawyer Mohd Azlan Shah Mohd Allias.
