Supercar driver dies after car crashes, bursts into flames on Karak Highway

BENTONG: A man died after the Lamborghini Huracan he was driving caught fire at KM57.1, eastbound, on the Bentong-Karak Highway here today.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ismail Abdul Ghani said they received an emergency call on the incident at 9.06am today, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reported.
According to him, eight personnel from the Bentong Fire and Rescue Station along with two vehicles were dispatched to the location, which was about 26km away.
"There was a fire involving a Lamborghini car that had crashed and was 100% engulfed in flames.
"An adult male, the driver, was trapped in the car, while an adult female, the passenger, was extracted and taken to the hospital by members of the public," he said in a statement.
He stated that the firefighting operation involved two hose streams from the fire engine's water tank before the victim's body was extracted from the wreck.
He said the trapped driver was confirmed dead by Health Ministry personnel on site.
"The victim's remains were subsequently handed over to the police for further action," he added.
