Suzuki launches new lineup of GSX-S1000GX, GSX-8R and V-Strom 800
By A. NACHI | 24 May 2024SERDANG: Suzuki Malaysia is putting a grand show with its launch of three highly-anticipated models - the GSX-S1000GX, GSX-8R and V-Strom 800.
Leading the line-up, the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX priced at RM89,900, known as "The Supreme Sport Crossover."
The GSX-S1000GX combines advanced technology with road touring and adventure capabilities.
Its 999cc, four-stroke DOHC inline-four engine ensures optimal performance for both long-distance touring and sporty runs.
The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) offers advanced electronic rider assist functions, including Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α), Smart TLR Control, Active Damping Control, and more.
The new Suzuki Advanced Electronic Suspension (SAES) supports versatile settings for sport riding and touring, with a 150mm front fork stroke and 150mm rear wheel travel.
Additional features include an upright riding position, wind protection, LED headlights, and premium LED rear lights.
Meanwhile, the RM53,800 GSX-8R is hailed as "The New Era of Superbike" and features a sleek fairing and a 776cc parallel-twin engine, offering agile handling with Showa’s SFF-BP fork and shock.
Ideal for urban commutes and sporty weekend rides, it includes ABS-equipped Nissin radial-mounted 4-piston brake callipers and dual 310mm front rotors.
Dunlop Road Sport 2 radial tires provide excellent grip.
The 270-degree firing engine with Cross Balancer ensures smooth operation, and Suzuki’s Clutch Assist System and Bi-directional Quick Shift enhance shifting.
The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) includes a three-mode Drive Mode Selector, four-mode Traction Control, Easy Start, and Low RPM Assist.
The 5-inch TFT instrument panel offers easy monitoring.
Rounding out the trio is the V-Strom 800 with a price tag of RM54,800.
The V-Strom 800 is powered by a 776cc DOHC parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank layout, delivering smooth power at low speeds and thrilling performance at high speeds.
Its rugged steel backbone frame, Showa SFF-BP inverted fork, and rear shock absorber with a hydraulic spring preload adjuster offer nimble and stable handling.
The bike includes radially mounted Nissin four-piston brake calipers and an ABS system for superior braking performance.
The seven-spoke cast-aluminium wheels with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear Dunlop D614F/D614 tubeless ADV tires provide excellent traction.
The 5-inch TFT LCD panel controls the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), including Drive Mode Selector, Traction Control, and Bi-Directional Quick Shift.
Comfort features include a wide handlebar, wide seat, rubber-padded footpegs, and an adjustable windscreen with Mono-focus LED headlights.
Additionally, Suzuki Malaysia also showcased a variety of other models, including the iconic Hayabusa, V-Strom 1050, 800DE, 1050RR, 250SX, and the GSX series, as well as the popular Raider R150Fi and new scooters, Burgman Street 125EX and Avenis 125.
