KUALA LUMPUR: Tesla stays firmly focused on long-term value creation, with clear momentum in Malaysia across vehicles, charging infrastructure, and over-the-air (OTA) software enhancements along with Grok AI Assistant updates.
The automaker noted that in Malaysia, Model Y is the country’s top imported brand electric vehicle, while Model 3 is Malaysia’s best-selling electric sedan in June 2026.
Meanwhile, to support rising global and local demand, Tesla is increasing production of its 4680 battery cells.
This directly enables higher output of the Model Y, the world’s best-selling vehicle, which is expected to continue its growth trajectory.
The Model Y L, launched in the United States in July 2026, has received a positive response from customers.
This positive momentum also reflected in Malaysia, where first deliveries in Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia started on 4 June and 4 July respectively.
As of June 2026, there are over 16,000 Tesla vehicles across Malaysia’s roads.
Tesla Malaysia currently offers Model 3 (starts at RM149,000) and Model Y.
Customers can benefit from 3,000km Supercharging credits while Model Y price starts at RM198,000 with trade in rebate of RM13,000 or low interest programme of 0.88% (not combinable, both incentives only applicable to Model Y Premium RWD) on top of the free Supercharging credits.

In 2025, Tesla pushed over 300 new or updated features globally. Building on that foundation, the latest Summer 2026 release enhances the Grok AI Assistant feature with new capabilities such as make phone calls, search and play music, and adjust climate control.
In addition, automatic navigation has expanded beyond home and work to support any destination based on the driver’s personal habits and schedule.
In Malaysia, the Supercharger network currently comprises 84 stalls across 19 sites, with upcoming locations planned for Penang, Perak, and Klang Valley.
This expanding network enables convenient cross-country travel from Singapore through Malaysia to Thailand, giving drivers reliable high-speed charging along key regional routes.
Tesla further supports this seamless regional experience with cross-country warranty coverage, service access, and connectivity for owners to travel cross-border.
Also, the first Destination Charging station in East Malaysia is located in voco Kuching.
