Tesla New Model Y owners take first deliveries


CYBERJAYA: Tesla in Malaysia made its first deliveries of the latest New Model Y electric vehicle (EV) to customers at its centres in Penang, Johor and here.

The New Model Y is part of Tesla's plans to promote the switch from ICE vehicles to EVs in Malaysia.

The New Model Y was launched globally in January and is available in two variants of Rear-wheel drive and Long Range.

The Rear-wheel drive is priced from RM195,450 and the Long Range from RM242,450.

Tesla said the Model Y lineup has been the world’s best-selling EV and awarded with the highest safety ratings for years.

"The newly launched Model Y continues to uphold the advanced technology with innovation and performance," it said.

The New Model Y features the industry-first indirect reflective body panel taillight and the new cross lightbar at the front, a bespoke design inspired by the Cybertruck and Cybercab.

Like all existing Tesla owners, New Model Y owners can enjoy complimentary charging at all 15 Destination Charging Stations with 70 Destination Chargers.

The company also provides the lowest Supercharging rate of RM1.19/kWh at all 14 Supercharging Stations with 64 Superchargers.

Tesla will also set up six Supercharging stations this year and locations include Pavilion Damansara Heights, Bangsar South, IPC Shopping Centre, I-City Finance Avenue, The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey and Toppen Shopping Centre.

Meanwhile, Tesla's the Refer & Earn programme allows owners and their friends to collaborate to unlock rewards of up to RM15,000 annually.

Customers can enjoy complimentary home charging support and low interest rate financing scheme for a Tesla vehicle with total incentives up to RM28,000.

Tesla has also recently introduced the Green Mobility Incentives Programme to support eco-conscious organisations and their employees in using EVs.
