The new supercharging station comes with four Tesla V3 chargers each featuring an output of 250kW DC that can provide a Model Y Performance with up to 270km of driving range in just 15 minutes.
The station also allows Tesla owners in both Malaysia and Singapore to enjoy cross-country road trips with a seamless fast charging experience.
To mark the opening of the station, Tesla owners can enjoy a special supercharging rate of RM0.63 per kWh from midnight Oct 5 to 11.59pm Oct 8.
After the special period, supercharging rate will be RM1.25 per kWh.
An idle fee of up to RM4 per minute will be imposed when the supercharging station is 100% occupied.
In addition, a Tesla Model Y will also be on display at the Main Concourse of Sunway Big Box, where customers can experience Tesla's technology and learn more about the charging experience.
The Johor supercharging station is the second such station in the country, following the setting-up of the Pavillion Kuala Lumpur station in July.
Tesla said it is committed to expanding its charging network in Malaysia with more charging stations opening soon.
Integrated support for Tesla vehicles and the mobile app enables owners to effortlessly navigate, precondition the vehicle battery, and access the charging station for a fast and hassle-free charging experience.
This includes real-time monitoring of charger availability, charging status, payment, and technical support, among other features.
