Great Wall Motor (GWM) is much more than just a global automaker, as the global intelligent technology group is dedicated to delivering smart and green eco-friendly mobility solutions.

ORA is GWM's new energy brand, and the all-electric ORA Good Cat, with its unconventional design and trendy exterior styling, was launched in Malaysia in November 2022.

It is rumoured that the ORA Lighting Cat all-electric saloon will also arrive in Malaysia in 2024.

Depending on variant, the Lighting Cat has an all-electric range of 555km to 705km, based on the China Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).



Meanwhile, HAVAL is the top best-selling SUV (sport utility vehicle) brand in China, and its range of SUVs come with advanced key features along with intelligent designs, as well as exceptional and reliable driving experiences.

TANK is the top best-selling SUV off-road car brand in China, and offers luxury vehicles that combine impressive comfort with off-road drive capabilities.

The TANK 300 and 500 premium hybrid SUVs were launched in Thailand recently and might be available in Malaysia in 2024.

As for the GWM CANNON which opened for bookings in August 2023, it has gained traction as the best-selling pick-up truck in China.

Meanwhile, WEY is positioned as the luxury segment in China, with a range of large-sized SUVs and luxury MPVs (multi-purpose vehicles) packaged with high-tech features.


GWM ready to better serve Malaysians

GWM's Malaysian unit officially started operations in July 2022, with a continued focus on implementing the group's Asean new energy strategy, adhering to the company’s three core values of delivering new energy, new intelligence, and a new experience.

In just a year in Malaysia, GWM launched the all-electric ORA Good Cat and unveiled anticipated models such as the CANNON, HAVAL H6 and HAVAL Jolion.

A network of 15 high-quality dealership partners is confirmed for 2023, including 4S (sales, service, spare parts, shop for body and paint) flagship centres in major cities.

The most recently opened GWM 4S centre, operated by CS Kiara Sdn Bhd, is located in Kuala Lumpur.

GWM targets to increase its dealership network coverage to 30 outlets in the first half of 2024, and will continue to focus on high-quality dealership partners and 4S centres to provide peace-of-mind ownership.

A spare parts centre is operational, in order to enable ample and quick supplies to customers.

CKD cars in the pipeline

The recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing with EP Manufacturing Bhd sets the stage for a groundbreaking CKD (completely knocked down) production facility in Melaka.

This visionary alliance will catalyse the domestic manufacturing of GWM's range of SUVs, pickups, and cutting-edge electric vehicles, heralding a transformative era in Malaysia's automotive production landscape.



According to reliable sources, the HAVAL H6 crossover SUV could be the first CKD model to be offered in 2024.

If its price positioning is around RM150,000, this best-selling SUV in China will definitely be worth the wait for Malaysian motorists, as it is smartly engineered with a sleek design as well as high-tech comfort and safety features.

Also, while there is no confirmation on production timelines, models such as the CANNON pick-up truck and more ORA all-electric cars are likely to be in the CKD pipeline.

Meanwhile, those interested in the ORA Good Cat can enjoy a special rebate up to RM20,000 in conjunction with the group's 1st anniversary celebrations in Malaysia.
