Thousands go to Matta fair — to pay traffic summonses

By THE STAR | 30 September 2018

GEORGE TOWN: While holiday makers are planning for their vacation at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair in SPICE Arena, many others were there to settle their outstanding police summonses first.

The Royal Malaysia Police had set up a booth at the travel fair offering 50% discount on traffic summonses and traffic offenders were making beeline queues to pay up.

The booth also offers a service for motorists to check their records in the police database.

The MATTA fair this year boasts 64 exhibitors, ranging from tour and travel agents, hotels and theme parks, to government agencies and banks.

The fair ends at 9pm today.
