How to look after your Vespa during MCO downtime
By A. NACHI | 06 April 2020PETALING JAYA: Here are some tips for all you Vespa owners out there to keep your two-wheeler in the best shape possible shape during the movement order control (MCO) period.
If you're going to store it for an extended period, then disconnect the wires from the battery.
Check the tyre pressure regularly to prevent a flat.
Switch the engine on every three to four times a week for up to 10 minutes to prevent dead charge and petrol deposit.
Also, once you're warming up the engine, take the time to turn on the headlight, signals and keep an eye out for any warning sign from the instrument cluster.
Once you're ready to take it out for a ride, avoid flooring the throttle. Be gentle and let the engine warm up slowly and let the engine oil be distributed evenly.
And if you notice excessive black or white smoke from your first ride after storage, then this is a sign of a potential mechanical problem.
