BANGKOK: To promore hydrogen and electrified vehicles, Toyota Motor Thailand Co Ltd, Isuzu Motors Ltd, Suzuki Motor Corp, Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd, along with Hino Motors Ltd will be working together in holding a test drive event, and introduce commercial vehicles to government officials, media, fleet companies, and partner corporations.

The vehicles will include the zero-emission hydrogen-powered Toyota Sora FCEV (fuel cell electric vehicle) bus, the Toyota Hilux Revo BEV (battery EV) concept, Hino FCEV heavy duty truck, Toyota e-Palette, Suzuki Every small van and even a hydrogen-powered Yamaha H2 ROV (recreational off-highway vehicle) buggy.

Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corp (CJPT) president Hiroki Nakajima said, "We want to contribute to improving the quality of life of people in Asia with various low-fuel consumption and high-efficiency vehicles, including small (Kei) internal combustion engine (ICE) vans, hybrid EVs, BEVs, and FCEVs."



In a statement, CJPT said starting from Thailand, the group will continue to work to quickly deploy decarbonisation technologies to the Asian market by integrating their knowledge and collaborating with like-minded stakeholders.

Following the collaboration with Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) announced in December 2022, CJPT aims to expand partnerships in Asia, including in the area of energy supply (energy solutions), mobility solutions such as vehicle provision and logistics management, and data solutions, by integrating the strengths of each company.

"It is important to provide the optimal mobility solution according to the regional environment and customer needs. CJPT positions this test drive event as part of expanding activities with more partners and will further accelerate CJPT's efforts to realise carbon neutrality in Thailand," said the group.
