BEIJING: The FAW Toyota joint venture in China has launched the all-electric bZ5 coupe SUV.
The bZ5 is available in four variants in China, with a starting price of 129,800 yuan (US$18,070), according to a news report by cnevpost.com.
The bZ5 is built on Toyota's e-TNGA platform, with dimensions of 4,780mm in length, 1,866mm in width, and 1,510mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,880mm.
It is single-motor front-wheel-drive, with 200kW.

It comes standard with a 65.28kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack from BYD, offering a CLTC range of 550km.
FAW Toyota offers a larger 73.984kWh battery pack option, increasing the CLTC range to 630km.
The bZ5 can charge from 30% to 80% in 29 minutes.
A news report by electrek.co pointed out that the car has Toyota’s new hammerhead front-end design, a full-length light bar, and a crossover fastback-like silhouette.
The interior is relatively minimalistic, and there's a 15.6-inch infotainment display screen.
