Toyota C-HR Prologue concept previews next C-HR, N. America excluded

BRUSSELS: Toyota has decided to stop selling the C-HR in North America after the current model year and will instead flog the next generation of the model in Europe.

For US and Canadian customers looking for a similarly-sized compact SUV, they will instead be offered the Corolla Cross, Corolla Cross Hybrid and RAV4.

The Toyota C-HR Prologue concept was unveiled last week, previewing the next generation C-HR set to arrive in Europe in 2023. It will be offered as a hybrid and plug-in hybrid.

The concept highlights a new C-HR that is sportier and more compact with surfacing that is described as both precise and organic.

The concept shows off bigger wheels with shorter overhangs , while enlarging the cabin space.

The “hammerhead” face highlights Toyota's design language for its EVs and hybrids and comes with full LED headlights. Grill apertures shrink in size, while headlamps slim down to accentuate the high-tech identity.

The concept car also boasts of a third colour accent to make it stand out further.

Like the first-gen C-HR, the next one was designed and developed at Toyota’s European Design Development headquarters in France.
