Depending on the model of the vehicle, the mats can be ordered online with prices ranging from RM99.90 to RM899.90 (inclusive of delivery charges with no minimum spend) and are accompanied by a one-year manufacturer warranty for defects.
The new Mark II range of mats have been infused with Bactekiller technology developed by Fuji Chemical Industries that prevents 99.9% of bacteria from growing on its surface.
In conjunction with the launch, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Japanese Pharmaceutical company to officially allow Trapo Asia to rights to use their technology in the car mats.
"Drivers step on their car mats without realising how bacteria they bring into their car. With this partnership, Trapo Mark II can provide a safe and cleaner option," said Trapo Asia co-founder Tzong Lee.
The components used to create the range of products have been touted by the Trapo Asia to be three-times more durable against abrasion, waterproof, highly effective in trapping dirt, non-toxic and odourless.
The local car mat producer says that its range of products are made out of 50% recycled raw materials that include excess ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam for while the rest of the mat use virgin fibres.
Additionally, the company allows its customers to trade in their previously bought Trapo mats which contributes to the production of its eco-friendly Trapo Eco mats.
"We place great importance on maintaining an eco-friendly culture here at Trapo. As such, we aim to be responsible for the waste from our manufacturing site for our car mats," said Trapo Asia co-founder Zare Lee.
Other available Trapo car mats include the Classic, Back and DIY range of mats.
In addition to car mats, Trapo is now venturing into providing car-accessories under the Oxtra brand name which includes power cables, car chargers, mini vacuums and phone holders.
