AS someone who has ridden through KL’s mid-day heat, sudden tropical downpours on interstate stretches, and early climbs up Genting and Fraser’s Hill, I judge a riding jacket by one simple question: does it genuinely work in Malaysian conditions?
Recently Tuned by Qbee, Malaysia’s largest helmet distributor, launched its own motorcycle riding jacket, the D24, named after the local durian.
The name was inspired by their online shop called durianbikers.com.

The D24 is available at all Durian Bikers physical shops and I had the opportunity to review this jacket for an extended period.
When I put it on, I immediately noticed how well it fits an upright riding position.
I find it ideal for commuters, adventure bikes and daily naked bikes.
It feels structured without being bulky, and I appreciate how the material balances durability with lightness, without stiffness.

The reinforced stitching at stress zones gives me confidence that this jacket is built to be ridden in, not just worn.
Ventilation is critical and I can feel the dual chest intake vents and rear exhaust vents working once I get moving, pushing air from front to back.
In stop-start Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur city traffic, I notice the vents prevent that sauna effect at traffic lights.
I also find the elbow armour sits securely with minimal movement, and the CE-certified elbow and back protectors give me reassuring baseline coverage for commuting, highway runs and weekend touring.
I especially appreciate the removable warmer when I ride up to the highlands of Genting or Cameron during the rainy season.

Early mornings can be cold, and I like that it also helps during heavy rain.
The waterproof phone pocket integrated into the liner is something extremely practical during sudden tropical storms.
Reflective panels enhance my night visibility, while the bright yellow and red options make me far more visible during the day when I filter through traffic.
At RM379, I see it as a strong value.
There are proper ventilation, credible protection, modular warmth, and high visibility, exactly what riders need for Malaysian roads.
