UMW Toyota Motor ends April with 7,345 units


SHAH ALAM: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) ended April 2024 with ongoing positive performance, attaining monthly total sales of 7,345 units (Toyota + Lexus), comprising 7,213 units for Toyota and 132 units for Lexus.

With this achievement, the total year-to-date sales as of April 2024 is now at 30,789 units.

UMWT has set a new benchmark in the non-national B-segment hatchback market with the introduction of the limited-edition Toyota Yaris G Limited.

With only 600 units available, this latest addition is tailored to the preferences of Generation Z drivers, offering a sportier and more dynamic driving experience.

UMWT president Datuk Ravindran K. said the Yaris G Limited aligned with the aspirations and lifestyles of the younger customers, showcasing the company's forward-thinking approach to automotive design and functionality.

Meanwhile, the company said the introduction of the all-new Toyota Hiace Super Long Wheelbase (SLWB) has given a boost to the commercial sector.

This model increases size significantly, offering enhanced space for passengers and cargo, making it ideal for long journeys.

It features a width of 1,950mm, a height of 2,280mm, and a wheelbase stretched to 3,860mm.

The Hiace SLWB is powered by a 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel engine, which delivers 177PS at 3,400rpm and 450Nm of torque from 1,600 to 2,400 rpm.

UMWT has also expanded its dealer network, with the introduction of Laser Motor 4S Sdn Bhd in Seremban.

Originally a 1S dealer, the new 3S facility now offers Sales & Service Centre Facilities to customers in Oakland, Seremban, featuring 10 service bays for the service centre.

To improve the customer purchase experience, UMWT launched the "Peace Of Mind With Every Drive" promotion for the month of May.

This offer includes rebates of up to RM7,500 and up to 100% financing across thirteen Toyota models, including the newly updated Toyota Yaris and the all-new Vios, with monthly instalments starting from as low as RM658 and RM688 respectively.

The Toyota Service Savers programme also provides an option for convenient monthly instalments starting from RM31.

UMWT also hosted the Corolla Cross Cup, the second event of the prestigious Toyota Tour, at the Glenmarie GCC's Garden Course from April 23-24.

Galven Green emerging victorious in a playoff first-hole victory over Nicholas Fung to reign supreme over 92 professionals and top amateurs who participated.

In addition to the game, an exclusive junior clinic was held at the Glenmarie practice area, with professionals such as Zia Izzuddeen, Umar Khushairi, Syahiran Syakir and Sukree Othman in attendance.
