SHAH ALAM: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd is getting out of the dealership scene to focus on "upstream activities".
It said that starting from January 2018, outlets currently owned and operated by UMW Toyota Motor would be transferred to existing Toyota dealers.
Dealers would focus on customer satisfaction, while UMW Toyota Motor would concentrate on product development, marketing and dealer network support.
"Although this arrangement signifies an important change for UMW Toyota Motor, our customers should rest assured that our service will not be compromised, and even get better in the future,” said its president Ravindran Kurusamy in a statement.
