TOKYO: Inspired by the Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept that debuted at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the upcoming LQ sports utility vehicle (SUV) will become the new flagship and will join the likes of the LS sedan as well as the LC coupe.

Rumoured to be arriving sometime in 2022, the LQ is expected to replace the aging LX (since 2007), it will utilise the platform of the LS with its looks likely to come predominantly from the LC.



Output could come from three engine options starting with a 416hp twin-turbo V6 or a 354hp hybrid powertrain, while the F Sport model could make use of a twin-turbo V8 with over 5600hp.

It could be expected that the LQ's cabin will be covered in soft-touch surfaces with high-end materials - which means fine-grain leather upholstery.



Other premium options could come in the form of heated rear seats, powered front seats with massage option, and a touchscreen on the rear-seat console among others.

In terms of pricing in the US, the LQ could come tagged between USD$80,000 (RM355,000) and nearly USD$$100,000 (RM450,000).
