On-the-road without insurance prices and sales tax in Peninsular Malaysia for private ownership for the 2.5L 2WD Mid is RM177,674, 2.5L 2WD High (RM183,452), 2.5L 2WD High Plus (RM197,553), 2.5L Turbo AWD High Plus (RM212,225) and 2.2L Diesel 2WD High Plus (RM204,758).
Among the new driving comfort and convenience features that are standard across all variants are G-Vectoring Control (GVC) Plus, additional USB ports for the third row passenger and a seven-inch instrument cluster meter, six-way power seat for the front passenger, handsfree power tailgate and auto-folding mirrors.
Also standard in the line-up is the Skyactiv six-speed automatic transmission with Manual Shift mode.
The 2.5L Mid and High variants get updated leather seats in black, while the 2.5L High Plus variant retains the Nappa Leather in Deep Red Finishing.
For the 2.5L High variant and above, they will receive an updated grille design, LED Signature headlamps, LED interior lamps as well as wireless charger and wireless Apple Carplay which is accessible through the eight-inch Mazda Connect Infotainment display.
The 2.5L High Plus and above variants will also have Gunmetal finishing on the front grille and chrome bumper garnish, front seats with heated and ventilation function as well as updated i-Activsense features which includes the newly added Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), High Beam Control (HBC), front and rear Smart Brake Support (SBS) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with stop and go.
The new 2.5L Turbo High Plus AWD variant comes with a Skyactiv-G engine that delivers 228hp and 420Nm torque to all four wheels for a top speed of 200kph.
Meanwhile, the 2.2L Diesel 2WD High Plus which previously used an all-wheel drive system now comes with a powertrain that drives the front wheels.
The CX-8 is locally assembled at the Inokom factory in Kulim, Kedah, at a dedicated section of the plant managed by Mazda Malaysia to ensure that the quality of Mazda vehicles is on par with those manufactured in Japan.
Available colours are Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue and Jet Black along with two new colours of Platinum Quartz and Polymetal Gray.
All new Mazda vehicles (except for the BT-50) come with a five-year manufacturer warranty and a five-year free maintenance according to manufacturer’s standards inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants.
Both manufacturer warranty and free maintenance have a coverage period of five years and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.
