Vehicle sales up 7.3%
By THE STAR | 17 December 2022PETALING JAYA: Vehicle sales in the country rose by 7.3% in November 2022 to 64,404 units from 60,047 units in the same month last year.
The automotive industry continued to fill sales recorded prior to the expiry of the sales and service tax exemption at the end of June, and the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) said total industry volume for November was 6% month-on-month higher than October, which was at 61,002 units.
MAA expects December sales to be higher than November numbers as car companies continue to rush to fulfill many outstanding bookings.
It said the higher sales expectations could be fuelled by the year-end promotions by certain automakers.
