Video of driver fleeing police in Sungai Buloh goes viral

PETALING JAYA: A video of a motorist ramming his car into other vehicles at a traffic light before fleeing from the police have gone viral.

The one-minute, 45-second video showed a policeman approaching a Proton Waja at a traffic light in a bid to stop the driver.

The driver was seen ignoring the policeman, who was trying to get him to alight from the car.

Another policeman was also seen approaching the vehicle but the driver choose to reverse his car into another vehicle before ramming the sides of a lorry and another car in front.

One of the police personnel was also seen shooting at the tyres of the car but the suspect managed to speed off by squeezing between the lorry and car.

The incident allegedly occurred at the Sierramas traffic lights in Sungai Buloh between 12.50pm and 1pm today.

When contacted, Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal confirmed that the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sri Damansara police station.

"However, the pursuing police personnel are from the Gombak police headquarters.

"I have discussed with Gombak OCPD ACP Arifai Tarawe and we agreed that he will furnish more details on the incident and issue a statement later," he said.
