VinFast is fifth best-selling brand in Vietnam

HANOI: Vietnam's homegrown auto brand Vinfast sold 29,485 cars in 2020 to become the country's fifth best-selling marque.

Ahead of Vinfast in the auto market share were Hyundai, Toyota, Kia and Mazda.

Its Lux A2.0 executive sedan based on the F10 BMW 5 Series, sold 6,013 units while the Lux SA2.0 premium crossover based on the F15 BMW X5, had 5,456 deliveries.

As the global pandemic resulted in an economic slowdown, the demand for high-end and mid-range cars in Vietnam was also affected.

VinFast's Fadil compact model managed to secure an impressive sales of 18,016 units and edged into the country's top 10 popular cars listing for the first time.

Fadil was also the country's best-selling A-segment car of the year and comes with an affordable pricing, gets the most powerful engine of its segment with a full range of comfort and safety features.

The company's Lux models which were built with European technology and used the chassis, engine and steering system of previous generation BMW models.

The company claimed these had provided Lux models with high levels of quality and German car-like performance and safety levels.

Other factors helping the sales of Lux models were special promotions and after-sales services.

In addition, Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0 vehicles are offered with a 5-year or 165,000km warranty, said to be the best in the Vietnamese automotive market.

VinFast also provides free 24/7 rescue service during the warranty period, and free parking for six hours at all Vincom and Vinhomes locations nationwide.
