JAKARTA: Vietnam’s electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast will launch its VF 7 five-seater C-segment SUV (sport utility vehicle) at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 (July 24 to August 3).
In a statement, VinFast said it will introduce "an entirely new right-hand drive model to Indonesian consumers".
Based on a recent VinFast Indonesia Facebook post, this will be the VF 7 which was also launched in the Philippines in October 2024.
In the Philippines, the VF 7 is offered in two versions: Base and Plus.
The VF 7 Base features a single electric motor with 174hp and 250Nm of torque.
Its battery capacity is 59.6kWh, offering a range of 430km per full charge (NEDC).
The VF 7 Plus is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering a combined power output of 348.6hp and 500Nm of torque, and features all-wheel drive.
The battery pack has a capacity of 75.3kWh, providing a range of 496km on a full charge (NEDC).
Both versions have safety features such as electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, and anti-roll control.
The Plus version also includes the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which offers features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, door-opening alert, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera system.
The VF 7 was designed by Torino Design studio in Italy, and embodies VinFast’s “Asymmetric Aerospace” design philosophy.
In the Philippines, the VF 7 is offered with a wide array of pricing incentives and unique battery subscription plans.
In the Philippines, the VF 7 comes with a 10-year/200,000km vehicle warranty, an 10-year unlimited mileage battery warranty (for battery purchases), and free maintenance, with battery replacement available if capacity falls below 70% (for battery subscription).
Meanwhile, at GIIAS 2025, VinFast will display its full range of EVs spanning from the VF 3 (mini SUV), the VF 5 (A-segment SUV), the VF 6 (B-segment SUV), to the VF e34 (C-segment SUV).
